Comcast’s Mary Stutts will be our Mistress of Ceremonies alongside one of our youth leaders. This will be a dynamic and inspiring event celebrating our 20th Anniversary. We hope to see you there!

All of the funds raised for this event will contribute to Alternatives in Action’s 20th Anniversary goals of building a Teen Tech Center in West Oakland, and an Early Childhood Learning Center in East Oakland. These are critical resources for Oakland youth and families.

Teen Tech Center: We are committed to bringing state of the art technology to West Oakland to ensure that Bay Area youth are part of the current boom in the tech field. The Teen Tech Center will operate year-round and offer free after-school programs where teens from all over the Bay Area can work with new technology, collaborate with one another, and explore future educational and career opportunities. The center will be located at Alternatives in Action’s McClymonds Youth & Family Center at McClymonds High School.

Early Childhood Education Center: Our Early Childhood Education center is being modeled after our award-winning preschool, Home Sweet Home, which launched in response to youth leaders interested in child development and providing quality child care for families. Opening in fall 2017 in the Seminary neighborhood of East Oakland, our program positively impacts children’s cognitive, physical, and social emotional development through quality care, socioeconomic diversity, and family engagement.
