Alternatives in Action (AIA) creates innovative experiences for diverse populations of children, youth
and adults that challenge them to become effective citizens who will have a powerful impact on the world.

Based at Alameda Point, AIA has three core programs:
1) HOME– an after-school and summer youth development program that offers 250 low income youth per year, ages 12-19, opportunities to address institutional gaps in their communities through creating dynamic community projects 2) BASE – a public charter high school for 110 youth that creates an environment in which young people take ownership over their school and learning, and change their lives as they change the community around them and 3) HOME Sweet HOME
Preschool – a fully licensed preschool for over 20 families with children 2-5 years old that promotes personal transformation through intergenerational work.
